This once grand house close to Petworth Park had been rented out since 1953 and had fallen into disrepair.
The relaxed vernacular charm of the north elevations were counterbalanced by Georgian interventions to the south.
Unsightly additions like a lift shaft and boiler flue, along with a modern garage were removed.
The landscape to the north was excavated to create a terraced garden, which allowed direct access from the newly appointed pantry to the kitchen garden and reinstated Victorian vine-house.
The works were designed and led by Tom Turner Architects and carried out by Ghinn & Co.
