The Swan Inn
Project
The Swan Inn, a Grade II listed 14th-century coaching inn, underwent a full restoration after closing in 2020.
Guided by a clear brief to retain local character, the project revitalised the main building, Barn, and Stables, respecting original features while upgrading for modern comfort.
Key works included structural repairs, soundproofing, ecological considerations, and restoring historic elements. Now reopened, the inn boasts 12 bespoke hotel rooms, a locally inspired restaurant, and a pub floor preserved for the community, all crafted using traditional methods.
The project was led by David Minns and Diego Perez of Prime Meridian Architects with heritage support provided by Manorwood.
Works were carried out by Cummins & Pope Ltd, Lion Foofing and Cocoon Exterior Works.
